the way that dean dying in a normal hunt returns us to the saving people part of saving people hunting things which has been missing from the show for so long. supernatural has been elevating its stakes and its lore for over a decade now and i think the show and the fans forgot that the point was originally sam and dean hopping from motel to motel saving normal people, rather than having a hero’s death in a epic fight against a cosmic evil and saving multiple realities. instead dean dies saving some children! how is that unworthy?
